Worked from the cuff up in the round, you begin with a simple 2×2 rib then increase for a thumb gusset and place the lace pattern. A rib finish is worked for the mitts version, or you can make a full mitten and Kitchener stitch the top closed. This is a good weekend or lazy day project as both patterns knit up really quickly.

**2022 UPDATE**
This pattern has been re-rewritten with a different tension as the original mittens (pictured) used a yarn that has long since been discontinued. There were some comments on Ravelry that the mittens were coming up large so I have added in an extra size, (which is now the size S, the original L is now XL)
Edith Mitts and Mittens were originally designed and knitted in the lovely Solid Aran BFL from A Stash Addict. I have since made a pair in Cascade 220 which worked really well and they were pretty indestructible, so this is now the suggested yarn.
Originally this pattern was just going to be available as mittens however, I got halfway through and decided they made lovely mitts too, so instructions are included for both.
This is a good weekend or lazy day project as both patterns knit up really quickly.
