Instructions are to work flat or in the round.
This little hat pattern was a lockdown project as it began to get chilly in Autumn 2020 and my daughter needed a new hat! I hadn’t intended to release the pattern and would have been more mindful about the yarns used if I hadn’t just been using up my stash.
The main hat is worked in Erika Knight British Blue Yarn in Iced Gem. The shade is now discontinued but many other shades are available.
The trees are Swiss darned on to the hat afterwards and are worked in Rowan Kid Classic, which is aran weight and not really what I would suggest to work with a DK. However I darned to a similar tension and it worked really well.
I would suggest two DK yarns for this project and you could just use anything in your stash.
As always I recommend you work a swatch for gauge but if you are substituting yarns that differ in weight slightly then this is a must!
