It would seem you lot just can’t make enough HATS! So I’ve put the cardigan on the backburner for a couple of months to use up some of my winter stash and get a few more patterns out you can knit up for Christmas presents.
In the meantime here’s my past week and a bit in pictures..
I went to see the Cure! Excuse the excitement but this is something I’ve wanted to do since I was 15 (and that was a little while ago now). Finally I got myself a ticket and squeezed my way down to the front for a proper singalong and a dance 🙂 It was awesome!
After staying in Reading with my very accommodating friends Cherry and Rich, Cherry pointed me in the direction of Jacksons in town, where I found these knitted Olympians and the Royal family. I’m not sure who’s who but I like the one on the left..
While I was waiting for my train back to Bristol I thought it would be rude not to pop into John Lewis. I’ve always heard good things about their yarn but this was my first experience! I’ve never lived in a town big enough to have a John Lewis, and also try to shop in the smaller independent stores when possible. There was a great selection in here but my only problem with it was that they’d hidden all the lovely Fyberspates yarn on the wall with the cheap acrylic stuff, so if you’re a yarn snob like me you might miss it.
And finally here’s a sneak preview of my new hat pattern. It’s something that came about accidently when I was following a stitch pattern I’d found and realised I’d done it completely wrong! I like the effect though so it’s staying. This one should be up and available by mid September with any luck 🙂
Also I’ve got a bit addicted to Instagram. I don’t have many photos up yet but my username is fayetuesday if you want to follow me!
Hope you’ve all had a good week!
Oooh, love your new hat design — looking forward to seeing you release it soon. The Cure? Awesome!
goodness your JL has more yarn than the Cambridge branch
That was just one wall! Luckily I live nowhere near Reading so there’s no chance of accidently overspending anytime soon!
