This nifty gadget was given to me recently. It’s simple, two pieces of card, one of colours and one of holes. It was designed by Gail Callahan, aka The Kangaroo Dyer, and I can see already it’s going to be really useful!
The idea is that you choose the main colour of your project, and position the largest hole over it. The guide then shows you the closest colour relatives in the holes surrounding the main colour. And if you want to add some pizazz, then five ideas show up in the narrow window along the side. Very simple, but genius! It can be really hard sometimes when you are presented with so many lovely colours to choose from. You can order a Color Grid here.
Also check out Gail’s gorgeous yarns – I’m loving the Tangerine!
Hi again,
I purchased one of Gail’s charts about a year ago and I must say I use it a lot. It is very practical.
